Professor Lisa Butler is a leading academic researcher at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the South Australian Immunogenomics Cancer Institute (SAiGENCI), Freemasons Centre for Male Health and Wellbeing (FCMHW), and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). She serves as Program Lead for Resistance Prevention at SAiGENCI and Director of the Solid Tumour Program at SAHMRI.

Her research focuses on androgen signaling, lipid metabolism, and biomarker development in prostate cancer, with significant translational impact including clinical trials for ribociclib and heat shock protein 90 inhibitors. She pioneered the ex vivo tumor culture model, now adopted internationally. Grants from Cancer Australia (2013) and US Department of Defense (2019) support her work. She supervises Masters and PhD students and leads the SAHMRI Prostate Cancer Research Group.
