Dr. Lisa Bradley is a Senior Lecturer in Creative and Interdisciplinary Studies in Education at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Advanced Research Centre (ARC). Her academic role focuses on anti-disciplinary scholarship and methodological innovation, blending Education, Urban Studies, Philosophy, and Criminology. She holds a PhD in Urban Studies and has been awarded the University of Glasgow’s Best Community & Public Engagement Award (2021) for her Justice Journeys project. Her research centers on knowledge production, marginalized epistemologies, and transformative educational practices, often employing arts-based and post-qualitative methods.
Education & Background
Lisa completed her PhD in Urban Studies, exploring temporal structures in academic disciplines. She is PI/Co-PI on grants such as Kitchen Life (clean cooking in Bangladesh/Malawi), Diversifying Justice (domestic abuse pathways), and Researchers Don’t Cry?!. She leads the MSc program in Education for Sustainable Futures and teaches research methods courses.
Research Interests
Her work interrogates academic cultures, speculative worlding practices, and situated learning. Key themes include decolonizing education, queer temporality, and the intersection of AI and anti-colonial literacies. Methodologically, she advocates for arts-based approaches (e.g., zine-making, quilting) as critical tools for social critique.
