Lisa Bowleg

Lisa Bowleg is a Professor of Applied Social Psychology at The George Washington University and serves as Director of the DC CFAR Social and Behavioral Sciences Core. Her work centers on intersectionality theory applied to health equity research, focusing on systemic stressors and protective factors affecting Black men and LGBTQ+ populations in the U.S.

Lisa's research integrates intersectionality, resilience, and social ecological theories to address mental health, substance use, and HIV outcomes among marginalized Black communities. Her methodologies include qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial analytics.
