Liran Einav serves as the Charles R. Schwab Professor in Economics and Department Chair at Stanford University's Department of Economics. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), where he directs the Industrial Organization Program.

Research Focus: Einav specializes in empirical analyses of insurance markets including demand modeling, pricing mechanisms, adverse selection, and moral hazard. His current work centers on healthcare market structures, while past research spans subprime auto loan pricing, motion picture industry competition, strategic commitment frameworks, and peer-to-peer internet markets. He co-authored the healthcare reform book We've Got You Covered: Rebooting American Health Care with Amy Finkelstein.
