Professor Lionel Tarassenko is a Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford and the founding President of Reuben College. He leads research in biomedical engineering, focusing on machine learning and signal processing for healthcare applications, including patient monitoring systems and mobile health technologies. His work has revolutionized early warning systems for critically ill patients and self-management tools for chronic conditions. He directed the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME) and expanded its research capacity, earning a Queen’s Anniversary Prize.
