Linus Kafka, PhD, JD, serves as a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona's College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA), teaching urban planning law and real estate development law. Concurrently, he acts as Career Strategies Officer for the Bachelor of Law and Master of Legal Studies Programs at the James E. Rogers College of Law, mentoring students in career development and industry connections.
His academic credentials include a PhD in History from UCLA, Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona, MA from New York University, and BA from Rutgers University.
Dr. Kafka's research integrates legal and historical perspectives, examining how elite world travelers shaped American arts, culture, and physical spaces during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His professional expertise spans historic preservation law, real estate transactions, zoning regulations, land use policy, and local government law, with significant contributions to Tucson's urban landscape including the National Register listing of Orchard River Garden Park.
