Dr. Linnea Lyding is Associate Professor and Dean at the Shelly Roden School of Education, Arizona Christian University (ACU), where she also serves as Education Department Chair. She has been a full-time faculty member since 2012, previously serving as an adjunct instructor at ACU, Northern Arizona University, and Arizona State University.

Dr. Lyding's research focuses on the integration of movement into learning, brain-based teaching strategies, and innovative pedagogical practices. Her work emphasizes how physical activity enhances cognitive engagement, memory, and literacy development, particularly in K–12 and hybrid learning environments. She is passionate about teacher professional development and curriculum design that supports active, multisensory learning experiences.
Her recent publications and presentations highlight trends in hybrid classroom technology (e.g., Jamboard), movement-based instruction, and strategies for maintaining student engagement during the pandemic. These works reflect a consistent focus on practical, evidence-based methods for improving teaching effectiveness through neuroscience-informed practices.
Dr. Lyding contributes to education policy as a member of the Certification Advisory Committee for the Arizona Department of Education and previously served on the Academic Standards Development Committee. She is also a Higher Education Accreditation Program (HEAP) team reviewer for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
She has led numerous professional development workshops nationally on topics such as 'There’s MAGIC in this Classroom,' 'Make a Move on Reading,' and 'Musical Chairs Removes Blank Stares,' demonstrating her commitment to equipping educators with dynamic, research-backed teaching tools.
