Dr. Chai's scholarly work focuses on how firms strategically manage coopetitive tensions to optimize performance, spanning marketing interfaces (new product development, supply chain, financial), international marketing, and intra/inter-business relationship strategies. She examines both the positive synergies and negative conflicts arising from paradoxical relationships, offering frameworks for balancing marketing-supply chain functional tensions.
Her publications appear in the Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing and Journal of Global Marketing. Dr. Chai actively contributes to academia through manuscript reviews for journals including Journal of International Marketing and conference committees like the American Marketing Association Annual Meetings, while regularly presenting research at Decision Sciences Institute and Academy of Management conferences.
