Junhyun Bae is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Production and Operations Management at Oakland University's School of Business Administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Cornell University's Johnson School of Management, an MS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and dual undergraduate degrees in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Yonsei University. His research focuses on incentive coordination in operations-marketing interfaces, supply chain management, pricing strategies, and game theory applications. He previously taught at SUNY Brockport before joining Oakland University.
Research interests include modeling consumer behavior in supply chains, analyzing market structures through game theory, and examining the impact of risk and bargaining dynamics on cost pass-through mechanisms. His recent work explores price competition in differentiated markets and the strategic implications of service commitments. Teaching specialties include production/operations management, supply chain analytics, and management science.
Selected publications address topics such as supply chain risk management, cost transmission mechanisms, and competitive pricing strategies. Presentations include a 2024 DSI conference talk on coopetition models in supply chains with information disclosure.
