Linganaden Murday is a Lecturer at the University of Mauritius and a PhD student at King's College London's African Leadership Centre. He concurrently serves as a Research Aide on the Practice of Leadership programme under El-Ghassim Wane and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in King's Department of International Development. His academic roles span teaching, research, and leadership studies.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History with International Relations, University of Mauritius
- Master of Arts in International Law and Politics, University of Hull
- Master of Science in Security, Leadership and Society, King's College London
Research Interests: China-Africa relations, maritime security in the Indian Ocean/East Africa, environmental insecurity, and Mauritius' historical dynamics. His doctoral thesis examines how Small Island Developing States (SIDS) address maritime environmental threats to fisheries resources, focusing on Mauritius and Seychelles.
Collaborations: He co-authored an essay on global leadership infrastructure with Prof. Funmi Olonisakin (2021) and contributed to discussions on African agency and development research (2023-2024). He is affiliated with King’s Just Transitions and Interdisciplinary Peace research group, exploring decarbonisation impacts on governance and security.
Teaching: At the University of Mauritius, he instructs courses on international institutions, human rights in global politics, and international relations theory.
