Ling Xin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology Education at Simmons University. Her research focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms of skeletal muscle repair and adaptation to exercise damage. She investigates the contralateral repeated bout effect, aiming to uncover mechanisms that could inform future muscle recovery therapies.
- PhD, Exercise Physiology, University of Massachusetts Amherst (2015)
- MS, Molecular and Cellular Biology, University of Massachusetts Amherst (2008)
- MS, Physiology, Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University (2003)
- Bachelor of Clinical Medicine, Jiangxi Medical College (1999)
Her research projects include studying the contralateral repeated bout effect in young women and circulating muscle-specific microRNAs post-damaging exercise. She actively mentors undergraduate researchers through Simmons' SURPASs program, guiding students in independent research projects.
