Ling Wu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Action Lab within the Department of Human Centred Computing at Monash University. Her research focuses on healthcare design, particularly leveraging technology-mediated support in mental health and healthcare systems for vulnerable populations such as parents, adolescents, and culturally diverse communities.
Her work emphasizes participatory design methodologies to ensure marginalized voices are central to healthcare innovation. Key projects include developing digital platforms for parenting interventions (e.g., MaaPs project) and co-designing mental health programs with stakeholders. She has collaborated on initiatives like the CSIRO Next Generation Graduates Program in AI for Mental Health and Health4Her Automated digital interventions.
Notable outputs include studies on participatory data governance for Parkinson’s patients, empathic partnerships in school refusal interventions, and implementation science frameworks for digital health scaling. Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being, and partnerships with institutions like Eastern Health and Parenting Research Centre Inc. underscore her applied impact.
Ling actively advises on PhD students and has contributed to 7 funded projects since 2020. Her lab’s work bridges human-centered computing with real-world healthcare challenges, prioritizing equitable access and participatory innovation.
