Lindy Brady is a Professor of Medieval History at Edge Hill University, specializing in early medieval Britain, Ireland, and Iceland. She holds fellowships from the Royal Historical Society and Society of Antiquaries. Her research explores transcultural and multilingual connectivity, focusing on texts in Old English, Old Irish, Middle Welsh, Old Norse, and Latin. Notable works include Writing the Welsh Borderlands (2017) and The Origin Legends of Early Medieval Britain and Ireland (2022).

Awards include the International Society for Study of Early Medieval England’s Best Book Prize (2019) and the Southeastern Medieval Association’s Best First Book Award (2020).
She supervises PhD students in early medieval British and Irish studies and contributes to collaborative projects like the Cambridge History of Britain. Active in editorial work, she has edited volumes on origin legends and Old English tradition.
