Dr. Lindsey Kellar serves as Associate AD for Organizational and Student-Athlete Development at Illinois Wesleyan University while teaching psychology courses. She has been with the university for five years (2025-26), previously establishing the women's lacrosse program as its first head coach.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor's degree from Siena College (2009)
- Doctorate in Educational Psychology from University at Albany (2014)
- Certificate in Sport Psychology (2021)
Dr. Kellar specializes in sport psychology applications for athletic performance and mental health. She leads comprehensive mental health initiatives including the Mental Health Action Plan, athletics Care Team, and Titan Mindset series—sports psychology-based programming enhancing student-athletes' mental performance skills. Her work integrates Green Dot training and NCAA DISC assessment programming across all sports.
Her coaching achievements feature an 88-49 record (.642 winning percentage) with two conference championships, 34 all-conference selections, and three CCIW Coach of the Year awards (2016, 2018, 2019).
Dr. Kellar advises student-athletes through mental health programming across cross country, track & field, tennis, and athletic training departments. While no formal research grants are documented, her department-wide initiatives represent significant applied implementation of psychological frameworks.
Though not directing a traditional research laboratory, she has institutionalized mental health infrastructure including the athletics Care Team and year-round Titan Mindset programming that serves as her primary scholarly contribution to student-athlete development.
