Lindsay Parker is an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Natural Sciences at Macquarie University, affiliated with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics (CNBP). She holds a BSc in Psychology (2006, Michigan State University) and a PhD in Advanced Medicine (2014, Macquarie University). Her research focuses on nanodiamond applications in neuroscience, biomarker discovery, and biomedical imaging. She has been involved in ARC-funded projects including DECRA Fellowships (2018–2022) and contributed to initiatives like the Galleria Research Facility. Parker lectures in Human Biology, Biochemistry, and Medical Biotechnology, advocating for inclusive STEM education.
Her key research interests include modifying nanoparticles for targeting diseased brain cells, 3D bioprinting for tissue models, and fluorescence-based imaging techniques. She has published over 47 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work exploring nanodiamond-coated lectins and super-resolution microscopy advancements. Collaborations span biomaterials, cell biology, and optical engineering.
Parker’s teaching reaches over 1,000 students annually, emphasizing accessibility and role-modeling for women in STEM. Her lab develops optical tools for neuroinflammation studies and brain cancer diagnostics, reflecting her dual focus on research innovation and education.
