Lindsay McCullough, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush Medical College, Rush University. She also serves as Associate Program Director for the Sleep Medicine Fellowship program. Her work focuses on sleep disorders, particularly obstructive sleep apnea, REM sleep physiology, and the intersection of sleep medicine with healthcare disparities and advocacy. She has contributed to studies on therapeutic interventions for sleep apnea, including hypoglossal nerve stimulation and radiofrequency ablation procedures.
Research interests emphasize translational studies in sleep-disordered breathing, clinical outcomes of sleep therapies, and improving access to sleep medicine in underserved populations. Her recent work has explored the role of gender in sleep disorder diagnosis, implications of strict hypopnea criteria, and advocacy efforts by medical professional organizations.
Dr. McCullough has authored/co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles addressing sleep medicine, critical care, and palliative care practices. Her work combines clinical practice with medical education initiatives, such as volunteer programs to increase sleep disorder awareness in safety-net clinics.
