Dr. Lindsay Dunn has been teaching in the Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) program at Texas Christian University since 2016 as a Lecturer in Art History. Her research focuses on 18th and 19th century European Art, with an emphasis on women artists and aristocratic portraiture. She explores how aristocratic women navigated political, social, and cultural roles across national boundaries during periods when women were often marginalized.
Education: Dr. Dunn completed her Ph.D. in Art History, conducting research in France for her dissertation, reflecting her deep interest in French cultural history.
Research Interests: Her work intersects Art History, Women’s Studies, and Visual Culture. She examines representations of women in art, particularly aristocratic women, and their roles in shaping cultural narratives. Her studies also address the intersection of art and political dynamics, such as Napoleonic-era portraiture.
Teaching: She teaches courses like Power and Authority in European Art and Paris in Pop Culture, emphasizing media literacy and critical analysis of diverse forms (e.g., film, advertisements). She prioritizes online collaboration through group assignments and discussions to engage MLA students fully.
