Dr. Lindsay Czuba is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on drug transport, metabolism, and interactions, particularly in the context of bile acid homeostasis and its role in obesity and liver fibrosis. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2017) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Pharmaceutics at the University of Washington, where she studied vitamin A metabolism in obesity and pregnancy.
Her work integrates molecular mechanisms of transporters and metabolizing enzymes, aiming to identify therapeutic targets for obesity-related comorbidities. Key areas include understanding how post-translational modifications regulate bile acid transporters like ASBT and how metabolic changes during pregnancy influence drug metabolism.
Recent publications highlight her focus on retinoid metabolism, CYP enzyme activity, and the interplay between gut microbiota and vitamin A pathways. Her studies also address translational challenges like cannabis-drug interactions and maternal-infant drug exposure via breastfeeding.
Dr. Czuba’s research has been published in high-impact journals, with a strong emphasis on translational pharmacology and clinical relevance.
