Lindah Muzangwa

Dr. Lindah Muzangwa is a Lecturer in Agricultural Sciences at RAU, specializing in crop science and agronomy with over 15 years of expertise in sustainable cropping systems, climate-smart agriculture, and soil health. She teaches undergraduate agronomy modules and supervises postgraduate students, while also serving as an external examiner for postgraduate programs. Her professional affiliations include registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions and membership in the South African Society of Crop Production.

Dr. Muzangwa holds a PhD in Agricultural Crop Science from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa, alongside an MSc and BSc (Hons) in the same field from the University of Zimbabwe and University of Fort Hare respectively. Her research focuses on optimizing crop systems for smallholder and commercial farming environments, with particular emphasis on conservation agriculture practices, soil carbon sequestration, and cover cropping strategies.

Her work emphasizes practical solutions for climate resilience, such as improving soil health through reduced tillage, crop rotation, and organic residue management. Notable contributions include studies on dual-purpose cropping systems, earthworm biodiversity in semi-arid regions, and farmer adoption of conservation agriculture techniques. She has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, with recent publications addressing soil health, carbon flux dynamics, and early-career researcher development in the agricultural sciences.

Dr. Muzangwa actively engages in academic leadership roles, including program leadership for crop science modules at RAU and editorial mentorship for the South African Journal of Science. She frequently presents at international conferences, such as the African Congress on Conservation Agriculture and World Congress on Conservation Agriculture, advocating for scalable, low-input agricultural solutions in African contexts.
