معرفی
Linda Tonk is a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Biological Sciences, University of Queensland. She holds an MSc in Marine Biology from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (1995–2000) and a PhD from Universiteit van Amsterdam (2003–2007), where her doctoral work focused on environmental influences on toxic peptide production by harmful cyanobacteria. Her current research examines Symbiodinium diversity in the Great Barrier Reef, investigating how environmental factors and host specificity shape symbiont communities amid climate change. Her broader interests span microbiology, phytoplankton physiology, and molecular ecology.
- Education:
- MSc Marine Biology, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (1995–2000)
- PhD in Aquatic Microbiology (2003–2007), Universiteit van Amsterdam
- Affiliations:
- Postdoctoral Researcher, School of Biological Sciences, University of Queensland (2009–present)
- Member, ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies (2005–2022)
Her work integrates marine and molecular ecology to address climate resilience in coral reef ecosystems. She contributes to interdisciplinary projects on symbiont dynamics and microbial interactions, with a focus on ecological adaptation mechanisms.
