Linda Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Child Development at California Polytechnic State University. Her research focuses on preschool children’s peer relations, social competence in culturally diverse settings, and the impact of immigration on child development. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychological Studies in Education from UCLA, an M.A. in Risk and Prevention from Harvard, and a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA.
Her research integrates ecological and sociocultural frameworks to examine how peer relations are shaped by multiple social contexts. Notable works include studies on cross-ethnic friendships in elementary schools and peer interactions in linguistically diverse classrooms.
Linda teaches courses such as CD 131 (Observing and Interacting with Children), CD 305 (Childhood Development), and CD 424 (Children’s Learning in Families and Communities). Her publications span journals like Merrill Palmer Quarterly and Early Childhood Research Quarterly, emphasizing developmental and educational perspectives.
