Linda Kopitz is a Lecturer at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Faculty of Humanities, Art and Culture, History, Antiquity. She is also affiliated with Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam as a Medewerker since September 2024. Kopitz holds a Research Master's in Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam and has studied at the University of Leipzig (Germany) and the University of Miami (USA). Her PhD research explores the intersection of urban and virtual environments in sustainable architecture.
Her research interests focus on architectural media, gender studies, and the interplay of technology with everyday life. She actively contributes to academic publishing as an editorial assistant for NECSUS Journal of Media Studies and assistant editor for the European Journal of Cultural Studies.
Kopitz has published extensively in areas such as urban studies, media theory, and cultural analysis. Her recent works include The Pocketbook of Audience Research (2024) and articles on topics like virtual urban environments and monstrosity in media. She teaches courses on key media concepts, media history, and research methods at the Vrije Universiteit.
Her editorial and academic contributions highlight a commitment to cross-disciplinary engagement, combining academic research with freelance creative direction and writing in the arts sector across the Netherlands, Germany, and the U.S.
