Dr Linda Erceg is a Lecturer in Art at the School of Creative Arts and Media, University of Tasmania. She holds a PhD in Fine Art (2017) and has extensive experience in multidisciplinary art, focusing on recycled materials and sustainability. Her work explores connections between stitched artefacts, living systems, and patterning through installations using plastics and organic materials. Erceg has exhibited nationally and internationally, supported by grants like 'Living in the Plastocene' (2022-2023).
Education: PhD (2017), MFA (2001), BFA (1997), BEd (1988). Former roles include teaching at Photography Studies College and TAFE, and coordinating programs in Visual Arts.
Research interests include the Anthropocene, climate change impacts, and material sustainability. Her projects like 'Plastisphere' (2022) and 'Living in the Plastocene' (2023) critique plastic waste through immersive installations. She has supervised four doctoral and masters students, focusing on ecological art and memorial narratives.
Awards include a 2020 commendation for teaching excellence. Teaching expertise spans online and offline units in Fine Arts and Health, emphasizing digital pedagogy since 2015.
