Professor Linda Charnes is a distinguished scholar in Shakespeare Studies and early modern culture at Indiana University Bloomington's Department of English. She holds the rank of Professor and has authored seminal works like Hamlet's Heirs and Notorious Identity. Her research explores Shakespeare's influence on mass culture, politics, and contemporary society, alongside expertise in Restoration literature, Milton, and psychoanalytic theory.
Education: Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley (1990).
Research interests include Shakespeare's legacy in modern contexts, political philosophy, and critical theory. Her work bridges early modern studies with contemporary interdisciplinary approaches, challenging traditional academic boundaries.
