Linda Bojmar

Linda Bojmar is an Assistant Professor and Docent at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences and the Division of Surgery, Orthopedics and Oncology. Her research focuses on understanding crosstalk between organs in cancer progression, particularly pancreatic cancer and hepatic metastasis. She leads the Bojmar Lab, which investigates the pre-metastatic niche and the role of extracellular vesicles (EVPs) in cancer spread.

Key projects include developing protocols for EVP characterization and using liver biopsies to predict metastasis outcomes. She has secured grants totaling over 6.8 million SEK from the Swedish Society for Medical Research and other agencies. Her work bridges clinical and preclinical research, involving collaborations across institutions in Sweden and the U.S.

Research interests span pancreatic cancer biology, liver metastasis mechanisms, and translational oncology. She emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork and aims to translate findings into clinical applications, such as biomarker development and targeted therapies.

Linda’s lab collaborates with clinicians and researchers globally, including work at Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Future goals include expanding studies on gastrointestinal cancers and exploring EVP-based therapies.
