Dr. Lin Yang is a Research Scientist at Alberta Health Services – Cancer Care Alberta and holds an adjunct position as Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine. Her work focuses on energy balance's role in cancer prevention and survivorship, combining epidemiology with implementation science and clinical research.
- PhD in Epidemiology from University of Cambridge (2012)
- Postdoc at Washington University in St. Louis (2013-2015)
- Master's degrees in Kinesiology, Statistics from University of Illinois (2004-2008)
Her research integrates wearable device data and biological marker analysis to study cancer mechanisms, with emphasis on physical activity interventions. Currently funded by Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Canadian Cancer Society, she collaborates across disciplines with clinicians, engineers, and geneticists.
Based at the Arthur Child Cancer Centre in Calgary, her team publishes extensively in cancer epidemiology journals. Active collaborations include work on exercise protocols for cancer patients and scalable interventions within healthcare systems.
