Lin Kuo-ming is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at National Taiwan University. His expertise spans political sociology, contemporary democratic theories, social and health policy, and historical sociology. He is a leading figure in promoting deliberative democracy in Taiwan, organizing over thirty government-sponsored citizen deliberation events. Recently, he contributed to participatory budgeting projects with the Ministry of Culture and Taipei City Government. His current research focuses on the interplay between civil society and deliberative democracy in Taiwan, culminating in an upcoming book on the topic.
Lin holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Yale University. His work bridges academic research with practical policy implementation, emphasizing civic engagement and democratic practices. He has been instrumental in designing public participation frameworks, reflecting his commitment to democratizing decision-making processes in Taiwan.
