Lilly Nicholls is a Senior Fellow and Professional in Residence at the University of Ottawa’s School of International Development and Global Studies (SIDGS/EDIM), bringing 30 years of diplomatic experience across six continents. She served as Canada’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh (2022-2024) during the Student Revolution and Ambassador to Panama (2018-2021) through the COVID-19 pandemic, and led the Global Affairs Canada Research Team that developed Canada's Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP).

Her work emphasizes evidence-based policy bridging academia and practice, prioritizing Global South inclusion and social justice in poverty reduction initiatives.
