Lilian Welling-Steffens is an Associate Professor in Private Law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), specializing in Property Law, Insolvency Law, and Private International Law. Her research focuses on cross-border legal challenges in the circular economy, cryptocurrency regulation, climate change liability, and European restructuring frameworks. She maintains affiliations with multiple academic institutions including the University of Amsterdam and Malawi universities, and holds leadership roles in legal organizations like the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Herstructurering.
