Prof. Frank Verstijlen is a Professor of Private Law specializing in Property Law and Insolvency Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen. He holds a PhD from Tilburg University (1998) on comparative law aspects of bankruptcy administrators' duties. Previously, he worked as an attorney in Rotterdam/Amsterdam (1997–2015) and as a university lecturer at Tilburg University (until 2001). His expertise spans insolvency law, corporate restructuring, and civil law. He serves as editor of the Faillissementswet and Tekst & Commentaar Insolventierecht, chairs the Insolventierecht Foundation, and advises the supervisory board of INSOLAD. Awarded the 'Lantaarn van het Insolventierecht' (2011) by peers.
