Lila Bailey is a Lecturer at the University of California, School of Law (Berkeley Law), where she contributes to academic instruction. She is also the founding partner of The Law Office of Lila Bailey, specializing in digital copyright and privacy issues while providing strategic counsel to clients such as the Internet Archive, WordPress.com, and startups.

Her career includes a Clinical Teaching Fellowship (2011–2013) at Berkeley’s Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic, where she mentored student attorneys. Previously, she held roles at Creative Commons, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, including work on the Viacom International v. YouTube case.
Bailey actively engages in public discourse through speaking engagements on digital copyright and privacy, often in workshops, conferences, and libraries. She held an Intellectual Property Fellowship with the Electronic Frontier Foundation in 2007, supporting litigation against abusive DMCA takedown notices in the Lenz v. Universal Music Group case.
