Lihi Haruvi serves as a Lecturer in Composition and Theory within the Music department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She concurrently holds positions as Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music's Global Jazz Institute and Harmony department, and faculty roles in New England Conservatory Jazz Programs.
Her research and artistic practice centers on Jazz improvisation and composition, infused with Mediterranean musical traditions. She actively advocates for music's therapeutic potential and healing properties, emphasizing expressive performance techniques and cross-cultural artistic dialogue in her educational approach.
Haruvi maintains an international performance career with festival appearances at Dominican Republic Jazz Festival, Cork Guinness Jazz Festival, Red Sea Jazz Festival, and Monterey Jazz Festival. Her collaborations include Grammy-winning artists Danilo Pérez and Luciana Souza, saxophone innovators Dave Liebman and George Garzone, arrangers Bill Dobbins and Greg Hopkins, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer Max Weinberg, Senegalese percussionist Lamine Touré & Group Saloum, and Israeli icon David Broza.
