Ligia Pelosi is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching at Victoria University's College of Arts, Business, Law, Education and Information Technology. She has been active in higher education since 2007, with previous experience as a primary school teacher specializing in music and languages.
Her educational background includes:

Pelosi's research focuses on narrative methodologies in literacy and creativity, with particular emphasis on innovative pedagogical approaches. Her work explores the intersection of arts education and literacy development, critical pedagogy in neoliberal higher education contexts, and transformative teaching practices. Recent work examines educational disruptions during COVID-19 and critical analyses of market-oriented education models.
She has secured significant research funding including the $169,700 'National Exceptional Teachers for Disadvantaged Schools' (NETDS) grant from the Victorian Department of Education (2018-2020). Pelosi has supervised multiple graduate students to completion and currently mentors PhD candidates researching topics including music education, challenging student behaviors, and trauma narratives in educational contexts.
