Professor Liette Lapointe is a Professor of Information Systems and Director of the McGill Centre for the Convergence of Health and Economics (MCCHE) at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management. Her research bridges information systems management, healthcare informatics, and behavioral studies. She holds a PhD in Information Systems from HEC Montréal, an MSc in Healthcare Management from Université de Montréal, and a BA in Translation from Université de Montréal.
Her work focuses on IT adoption challenges, user resistance, IT addiction, and healthcare system innovation. Notable contributions include studies on electronic medical records (EMR) in primary care, geriatric care models, and palliative care quality. Her interdisciplinary research is supported by grants from CIHR, SSHRC, and FQRSC, emphasizing practical impacts on healthcare policy and practice.
Recent publications explore AI explainability, IT addiction recovery, and lean healthcare implementation. She is a recipient of the MISQ Best Paper Award (2005) and has advised on hospital governance and integrated care models.
