Liang Zhao is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Strathclyde Business School, where he teaches courses such as Innovation Lab (Z1984) and Entrepreneurial Finance (Z1982). He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Amsterdam and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching Higher Education.
His research focuses on crowdfunding, entrepreneurial finance, innovation strategy, and digital transformation in emerging markets. Recent work examines self-pledge mechanisms in crowdfunding success, digital policy impacts on firm innovation, and greenwashing mitigation through supply chain leadership. Collaborations include projects funded by the Research Council of Norway and the National Social Science Fund of China.
Key trends in his 15 most recent publications include crowdfunding dynamics, digital transformation in emerging economies, FinTech adoption, and sustainable business practices. His research often integrates theoretical frameworks like affordance theory and attention allocation theory.
