Liane Hewitt

Liane Hewitt is a Professor and former Chair (2000–2023) of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Loma Linda University. Her career spans roles in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing, schools, and community-based practices. She specializes in neuro-rehabilitation and has fostered collaborations with San Bernardino County organizations to develop programs in health literacy, senior wellness, and youth health promotion. She actively serves on university committees, including co-chairing the Academic Service Learning Committee, and teaches courses on wellness and service learning.

Her professional focus integrates clinical expertise with community engagement, emphasizing innovative solutions for at-risk populations. Beyond academia, she enjoys gardening, reading, and family time with her daughter, grandson, and pets.
