Antonette Fernandez

Antonette Fernandez holds the positions of Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the OT Programs Campus at the College of Health Sciences. With 35 years of clinical and leadership experience, she specializes in rehabilitation services across the lifespan, focusing on traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuro-rehabilitation, orthopedics, burns, movement disorders, geriatrics, fall prevention, and rehabilitation technology. Her expertise spans acute care, post-acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient services, home health, and long-term care environments.

Research & Professional Contributions: Her research interests include leadership development, program development, academic fieldwork education, spirituality in occupational therapy practice, and community outreach for fall prevention. She has served as an adjunct faculty member in Occupational Therapy departments across South Florida universities and actively participated on advisory boards for Florida International University, Nova Southeastern University, and Keiser University. Her leadership roles in healthcare organizations in South Florida further highlight her commitment to advancing rehabilitation services.
