Ramzi Ben Youssef

Dr. Ramzi Ben-Youssef is a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. He also serves as Medical Director of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Keck Hospital and held prior leadership roles at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, including Chief of the Spinal Cord Injury Outpatient Center. His academic affiliations include adjunct roles in occupational therapy and surgical training.

• Education: MD from Sousse, Tunisia; Surgical training at Loma Linda University and USC; Neurology residency at Loma Linda/Rancho Los Amigos.
• Research Focus: Spinal cord injury rehabilitation, stroke recovery, robotic exoskeletons, stem cell therapy, and transplantation immunology.

He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and presented at major national/international conferences. His clinical work spans physical medicine, neuro-rehabilitation, and surgical transplantation. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Southern California Spinal Cord Injury Model System.

Dr. Ben-Youssef’s contributions include pioneering the Spinal Cord Injury Patient Centered Medical Home and co-developing the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at USC. His research integrates clinical practice with advanced technologies in rehabilitation.
