Liam Aubrey is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Leeds within the Faculty of Biological Sciences, currently working under Professor Sheena Radford in the Astbury building. His research focuses on structural dynamics of amyloid fibrils and protein misfolding mechanisms.
His academic journey includes:
- Undergraduate studies at the University of Leeds
- Master's degree in Mechanistic Biology at the University of Sheffield
- PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield supervised by Dr. Rosie Staniforth
Dr. Aubrey specializes in structurally dynamic regions of amyloid fibrils that evade high-resolution imaging, with core expertise in:
- Protein Aggregation mechanisms
- Amyloid fibril structural assembly
- Advanced Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) techniques
Based in room 10.117d of the Astbury building, he contributes to the research ecosystem of the Astbury Centre for Structural Molecular Biology, a leading interdisciplinary hub for molecular biophysics and structural biology at Leeds.
