Li Peilin is a renowned Chinese sociologist and Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), serving since 2013. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Université Paris 1 (1987) and has been a pivotal figure in Chinese academia since returning from France in 1988. His research focuses on modernity, social stratification, migrant workers, and urbanization. Key roles include former President of the Chinese Sociological Association (2008) and member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (since 2018).
