Yuri Matiyasevich is a renowned mathematician and Professor at Saint Petersburg State University (formerly Leningrad State University) since 1980, with additional part-time teaching roles at the Polytechnical Institute and Saint Petersburg State University. He serves as the head of a laboratory at the Steklov Institute of Mathematics, Leningrad/St. Petersburg Branch, where he has held progressively senior research positions since 1970.
