Li Huan Tan is a PhD Researcher at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Anglia Ruskin University, affiliated with the Psychology, Sport and Sensory Science department. He is a member of the Development and Lifespan Group within the ARU Centre for Mind and Behaviour.

His research explores the relationship between social mimicry and empathy in parent-child interactions, focusing on families with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Using Facial Electromyography (fEMG) and observational studies, his work investigates how imitation functions in these dynamics and its connection to the broader autism phenotype.
