Leyla Kahraman Yuce

Leyla Kahraman Yuce is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Nevsehir Haci Bektas Veli University's Faculty of Economics and Administration. She has served as Head of Department since 2011 and previously held significant administrative positions including Department Head at both Nevsehir University (2010-2014) and Nevsehir Haci Bektas Veli University (2022-2023), Director of Research and Application Center (2017-2020), and Deputy Director (2013-2014).

Dr. Yuce earned her Doctorate in Political Science from Hacettepe University Institute of Social Sciences in 2005 with a dissertation titled 'Statesmanship and Politicianship in Turkey: The Examples of Demirel, Ecevit and Özal' and holds a second Doctorate in Public Administration from Inonu University Institute of Social Sciences (1999). Her academic journey began as a Research Assistant at Inonu University (1998-2000), followed by positions at Hacettepe University (2000-2006), Nevsehir University (2010-2013), and her current institution where she was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017.

Her scholarly work consistently centers on gender dynamics within Turkish political systems, with particular focus on women's political representation, gender equality, and political modernization. She teaches a comprehensive curriculum including Introduction to Political Science, Gender Studies, Turkish Political Life, Women and Politics, and Social Gender Studies at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections between political theory, public administration, and gender studies.

Dr. Yuce's publication record spans over two decades with significant output in recent years. Her work shows an evolving focus from foundational studies on political systems and public administration to increasingly specialized research on gender representation in Turkish politics. Recent publications (2020-2024) demonstrate particular attention to contemporary issues including migration history, urban citizenship rights, and digital transformation in local governance.

As a dedicated mentor, Dr. Yuce has supervised five graduate theses to completion and currently advises ongoing research. She has led significant research initiatives including an EU-funded project (2014-2015) on strengthening civil society organizations combating violence against women, where she served as Project Coordinator. Her administrative leadership extends beyond departmental roles to include managing research centers and university-community collaboration initiatives focused on municipal governance and gender equality.

Dr. Yuce maintains an active scholarly presence through her teaching, research, and leadership at Nevsehir Haci Bektas Veli University, continuing to contribute to academic discourse on Turkish political development and gender equality in political representation.
