Dr. Lewis Bloodworth is a Lecturer in Sociology and Course Director for Sociology at Kingston University, affiliated with the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences and the Department of Criminology, Politics and Sociology. He joined the university in 2022 after teaching at the University of Kent, where he completed his PhD in Political and Social Thought.

Research Focus: His work critically examines love as a sociocultural phenomenon through frameworks including Deleuzian philosophy, psychoanalysis, and critical theory. Current research investigates how dating apps reshape contemporary relationships, identity construction, and subjectivity, with planned expansion into global algorithmic impacts on social dynamics. Theoretical engagements span Freud, Marcuse, Badiou, Kollontai, Foucault, Derrida, and Hardt.
Teaching Expertise: Dr. Bloodworth teaches across sociology, political theory, British politics, terrorism studies, conflict analysis, research design, and criminology.
