Leslie Scott serves as Associate Professor of Dance in the Department of Theatre & Dance at Tulane University and Artistic Director of both the Newcomb Dance Company and BODYART, a Los Angeles-based multimedia contemporary dance theatre company. Her work has been performed internationally in cities including New York, Edinburgh, and Kuala Lumpur.
Education

Research Focus
Scott's primary research explores the intersection of movement and technology, resulting in innovative work in contemporary dance, dance film, and multimedia performance. She founded The Decay Project, a global dance film residency program that partners with local communities, and incorporates multi-sensory elements into her choreography, drawing from her background as a certified sommelier. Her commitment to community engagement drives her artistic practice toward social change.
Professional Leadership
With over a decade of experience organizing international dance festivals, Scott also teaches creative entrepreneurship workshops for artists through the Center for Cultural Innovation. She bridges artistic practice with community development, mentoring emerging artists in branding and non-profit management.
