Lesley Anderson

Lesley Anderson is a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, Queen's University Belfast. Her research focuses on cancer epidemiology, particularly infection and immunoepidemiology related to haematopoietic malignancies, and the aetiology of Barrett's oesophagus and oesophageal adenocarcinoma. She has led several grants and collaborations, including studies on HPV-related cancers and pharmacoepidemiology investigations. She has been involved in numerous research projects and has received academic fellowships and awards.

Lesley Anderson holds a PhD in cancer epidemiology, focusing on Barrett's oesophagus and oesophageal adenocarcinoma. Her postgraduate training includes a course in epidemiology from Queen's University Belfast and advanced Stata training from the University of Bristol.

Her research interests are centered on three main themes: haematopoietic malignancies, HPV-related cancers, and oesophageal adenocarcinoma. She has investigated autoimmune conditions and infectious disorders linked to haematopoietic cancers, collaborated on HPV prevalence studies in Northern Ireland, and contributed to global research through the BEACON consortium.

• Lead investigator on grants such as the "Assessing the care pathway for Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS)" and "Exploratory case control study on myeloproliferative disorders".
• Secured over £130k from MPD Voice for myeloproliferative disorder research.

She collaborates with the National Cancer Institute, USA, and the Barrett's Esophageal Adenocarcinoma CONsortium (BEACON).
