معرفی
Leor Barack is a Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Southampton's School of Mathematical Sciences. His research focuses on classical general relativity, gravitational waves, and black hole dynamics, contributing to gravitational-wave detector modeling for missions like LISA. He has held an ERC grant (2012-2017) and a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. Barack currently teaches MATH1006 (Maths for Physics Students) and MATH3006 (Introduction to General Relativity).
Education: PhD in Physics from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (2000). Postdoctoral roles included the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Germany) and NASA's Gravitational-Wave Astronomy Center (Texas). Joined Southampton as Lecturer in 2004, promoted to Professor in 2012.
Research highlights include studies on gravitational self-force, radiation reaction, and waveform modeling. Active in projects like LISA Ground Segment support (2020-2025) and ERC-funded work on extreme-mass-ratio inspirals. Supervises PhD students in gravitational physics and leads collaborative efforts with international teams.
