معرفی
Dr Alexander Grant is a Research Fellow in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton. His work focuses on classical general relativity, particularly the self-force effects in gravitational wave emissions and memory effects in gravitational wave signals, which are critical for current and future gravitational wave detector technologies.
- Education: PhD from Cornell University (2020).
- Previous Role: Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Virginia (2020–2023).
Research Interests: Alexander investigates two key areas—self-force, where gravitational waves influence the orbit of a small body around a supermassive black hole, and memory effects, non-oscillatory components of gravitational wave signals. His work bridges theoretical models with observational physics for gravitational wave astronomy.
Recent publications include studies on higher memory effects, flux-balance laws in scalar self-force theory, and dark matter interactions in intermediate mass-ratio inspirals. His research contributes to waveform modeling and signal analysis for gravitational wave detectors like LIGO and future space-based observatories.
