معرفی
Leonidas Ch. Palilis is a full Professor of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics, School of Sciences, University of Patras since January 2024. Previously, he served as Associate Professor (2017-2023), Tenured Assistant Professor (2015-2017), and Assistant Professor on Probation (2010-2015) at the same institution. His research focuses on organic optoelectronics, polymer electronics, and photovoltaic materials within the Condensed Matter Physics Section.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Experimental Solid State Physics from the University of Sheffield (2001), specializing in conductive polymer light-emitting diodes under Professor Donal DC Bradley, and a B.Sc. in Physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1997) with GPA 8.38.
Palilis' research spans molecular organic semiconductors, polymer electronic materials, and plastic organic nano-optoelectronic devices. His work emphasizes interfacial engineering in organic solar cells, perovskite photovoltaics, and OLEDs, with particular focus on cathode/anode interlayers, defect passivation, and stability enhancement. His recent publications demonstrate expertise in sulfur-doped ZnO, plasmonic nanoparticles, carbon nanodots, and BODIPY-based interfacial materials.
His 15 most recent publications reveal strong trends in interfacial engineering for photovoltaics (70%), perovskite device optimization (50%), and novel electron/hole transport materials (60%). The work consistently addresses stability challenges in organic and hybrid optoelectronics while pushing efficiency boundaries through molecular design and nanostructure engineering.
