معرفی
Dr. Xiong Gong is a Professor at the University of Akron's School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering and Department of Chemical, Biomolecular and Corrosion Engineering. He specializes in organic/polymer, hybrid perovskite, and inorganic nanostructured materials for electronic and optoelectronic devices.
- Ph.D. in Physics (Optics), Nankai University (1997)
- M.Sc. in Chemistry (Solid State Chemistry), Lanzhou University (1994)
- B.Sc. in Chemistry, Northwest Normal University (1986)
His research focuses on organic/polymer and hybrid perovskite electronic devices, including solar cells, photodetectors, LEDs, biosensors, thermoelectric materials, and supercapacitors. He investigates the chemistry and physics of semiconducting materials, ultra-fast lasers, and spectroscopy.
Recent publications highlight trends in perovskite solar cells, hybrid photovoltaics, self-charging systems, low-toxic perovskite materials, and magnetic field effects on photovoltaics. His work bridges materials science, chemical engineering, and optoelectronics.
- Outstanding Research Award, University of Akron (2018)
- NSF CAREER award (2014)
- Top 1% Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson Reuters (2014-2016)
- Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship (1999)
Dr. Gong has received grants including the NSF CAREER award and 3M Non-tenured Faculty Award. His research contributes to self-powered electronics and stable photovoltaic systems.
