Xiong Gong

Dr. Xiong Gong is a Professor at the University of Akron's School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering and Department of Chemical, Biomolecular and Corrosion Engineering. He specializes in organic/polymer, hybrid perovskite, and inorganic nanostructured materials for electronic and optoelectronic devices.

His research focuses on organic/polymer and hybrid perovskite electronic devices, including solar cells, photodetectors, LEDs, biosensors, thermoelectric materials, and supercapacitors. He investigates the chemistry and physics of semiconducting materials, ultra-fast lasers, and spectroscopy.

Recent publications highlight trends in perovskite solar cells, hybrid photovoltaics, self-charging systems, low-toxic perovskite materials, and magnetic field effects on photovoltaics. His work bridges materials science, chemical engineering, and optoelectronics.
